This is aftertaste.

Indulging on my indie roots is an important aspect of what’s to come next. I started my first program Tastebuds on Guam’s local NPR radio station, 89.3FM, in 2016. More than an opportunity to be useful, it was a chance to prove myself professionally. but the only reason I have a radio career today is the indie rock band i started with my love and friends, to the hill.

in 2023, an almost-super=typhoon named mawar chewed through the island and left it in a mangled state of emergency, leaving the station in much the same. Meaning for a while I worked overtime trying to keep things afloat almost literally. my show was already nearing its final broadcast, but after losing power and water for weeks, “videogame music” ended up prematurely being the final episode of my old show. Since I never got to say goodbye…

this is Aftertaste. my new radio program celebrating my indie roots in music and attitude. playing two hours of independent and alternative music from 1 to 3 pm, every Friday afternoon on 89.3fm. streaming online as well on kprgfm.org when it airs starting today (4/26/2024]. I’m stoked to be back with hopes of continuing this journey to creatively connect with people through art and music. even on the airwaves.

It’s been a lot of fun being able to share the songs I grew up enjoying as a young hipster trying to fit into this world. I’m lucky to have my own little space in the back now. that’s where I mix nostalgia with what’s new in hopes of bringing you something equal parts interesting and comforting. you can tune in through your FM dial, online, or in space.

Thank you so much for supporting your boy bob gnarly through this endeavor.

my life wouldn’t be the same without it.
